The key is to build a learning environment at home that is immersive and expansive. It allows tutors to create a scaffold for students to take aspects of their learning into their own hands.

Tailored lessons follow exam board curricula, but incorporate novel examples and are adaptable to work alongside purists in sports or the arts.

  • Homeschooling is a popular option for students who aren’t in mainstream education for any number of reasons. Whether it be due to illness, learning differences or family choice. We can help create a programme to support home education.

  • Placements can last for a few days or up to a few years to cover a whole qualification. One of the benefits of 1:1 help is that most students don’t require a full school timetable to achieve their goals. They still have time to socialise and grow outside of lessons at home.

  • Homeschooling allows students to be flexible around extracurricular activities and programmes incorporate practicals and coursework assessments where necessary.

  • It is essential to keep parents and students abreast of their progress and of any changes to their educational plan. In many cases involving students helps provide motivation and increase enthusiasm as everyone is working towards a goal together.

Case studies

  • Kieran was homeschooled in chemistry, biology, physics, maths and geography. We worked through the syllabi and wherever possible introduced the practical elements of science into our lessons. We were also able complete the geography coursework elements on two days out to Box Hill and a local town centre. Kieran was able to sit his maths a year early and achieved a level 8. He achieved 7s in his sciences.

  • Michelle spent a year being homeschooled in maths and chemistry before attending sixth form abroad. Lessons worked around her ADHD diagnosis and a full extracurricular timetable. She was able to sit her maths exam a year early.

We worked to fill knowledge gaps and focused on time management and exam technique.
